Adam Lopez Costa (born August 26, 1972 in Brisbane , Australia ) is an Australian pop musician , singer and singing teacher. It is famous for its ability to produce extremely high notes using the whistle register . He is also known for his large vocal range. He held the world record for the highest sound produced by a man until the end of 2017.

biography

Lopez is the second of three sons of Spanish immigrants Manuel Jesus Lopez Perez and Maria Del Rosario Costa Velasco. Both parents were musicians . After starting singing at age three, Lopez was a soprano at age ten . After graduating from high school , Lopez studied singing at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music at Griffith University in Australia. He studied opera singing there for five years and invested a total of ten years in developing his vocal skills.

On the side, Lopez has worked as a background singer for Mariah Carey , Debelah Morgan , Keith Urban , Vanessa Amorosi and other Australian artists. He has also worked for film and radio .

Lopez currently teaches singing at Sheldon College in Redlands, Queensland, Australia.

World record

For the Guinness Book of Records on October 27, 2008, Lopez held one of the highest notes ever produced by a man. This tone is a five-stroke C sharp. The tone is a semitone above the highest note of a piano and has a frequency of 4435 Hz. On October 27, 2017, Wang Xiaolong surpassed this record with a five-stroke e (5342 Hz).
