Adam Sigmund Philipp Semler

Adam Sigmund Philipp Semler (born May 1, 1754 in Halle ; † August 5, 1809 in Magdeburg ) was a German lawyer.

Life

Adam Sigmund Philipp Semler was the son of the professor of theology Johann Salomon Semler in Halle. At the age of 15 he went to study law for four years at the University of Halle and from there to Göttingen . In 1776 he passed his examination at the University of Leipzig , but was unable to take up a teaching post due to poor health.

From 1777 to 1784 he was a trainee lawyer with the government in Magdeburg, then became a government assessor and finally in 1789 a royal Prussian councilor.
