St. Paulus in Göttingen, detail

Weinhag designed the neo-baroque church buildings of St. Gerhard in Heiligenstadt (1925) and St. Paulus in Göttingen (1927).

On the occasion of the consecration of the Pauluskirche he wrote in the Göttinger Tageblatt on July 21, 1929 :

“If they are to build a new church, today's artists are confronted with a task which always brings them into conflict in that they would like to build modernly in accordance with the zeitgeist and current trends, but otherwise they always or in most cases have to process the client's wishes individually. Finding a center line that does justice to both cases is the great art of the creative architect today. "
