Adanos
Adanos ( ancient Greek Ἄδανος ) is the eponymous founder of the Cilician city of Adana in Greek mythology . His myth is only attested by the late antique grammarian Stephanos of Byzantium .
Adanos is the son of Uranos and Gaia and the brother of Ostakos , Sandes , Kronos , Iapetos , Olympos and Rhea . He fights against the inhabitants of Tarsos , but since he was not lucky in the fight, he founds the city of Adana with Saros , the river god of today's Seyhan River .
According to his ancestry, Adanos is one of the titans , with most of the names of his siblings based on the titan names in Homer and not on the more common names from the theogony of Hesiod .
