Adele Kment (born August 13, 1883 in Vienna , Austria-Hungary , † August 31, 1950 in Vienna, Austria ) was an Austrian writer who was best known for her homeland novels .

Life

Adele Kment was born on August 13, 1883 in Vienna, where she grew up and studied economics for two semesters . Already in her youth she worked as an employee for various newspapers and only came to actual writing in later years. With her novels and short stories, she was considered a popular and widely read entertainment writer, who showed good powers of observation, an interest in social problems and her love for the "people from the ground" and for the city in a simple narrative style. For a long time she also appeared as president of the Catholic writers' association "Winfried" . Her best-known works include Heimat am Schönbrunnerpark , Der Weg nach Wien , Herzlieb and Rosenrot , Offmey. History of the old town of Hainburg , The Sons of Napoleon , Around the Stefansturm , The House of Good Chunradin or The Beloved King , as one of her last works. Shortly after her 67th birthday, Kment died on August 31, 1950 in her home at Leopoldauer Platz 23 in the 21st Viennese district of Floridsdorf .
