Adelindis von Buchau (Abbess)
Adelindis von Buchau († after 914 ) was the 2nd abbess of the free worldly Buchau women's monastery in what is now Bad Buchau am Federsee . She is not to be confused with Adelindis , the founder of the monastery.
Life
The mother of Adelindis is a "middle Adelindis" not described in more detail in the literature and not the founder of the Adelindis monastery of Buchau . Presumably she entered the monastery under the pressure of her unknown parents. As a result, her brothers Berengar, Reginolf and Gerhard tried to kidnap her from the monastery in 902. The alleged date of death on August 28th, on which the Adelindis Festival is also celebrated in what is now Bad Buchau, cannot be proven. Her remains are said to be in the crypt of the collegiate church of St. Cornelius and Cyprianus .
She later became abbess of the women's monastery.
