Adelphocoris reichelii is a species of bug from the family of soft bugs (Miridae).
features
The bugs are 8 to 9.3 millimeters long. The dark-colored pronotum has a light edge at the base and a small, light indentation in the center. The scutellum is orange at the base of the sides, white at the base and dark in the middle. The corium has a cream-colored basic color. The clavus and a triangular area near the transition to the cuneus are also dark in color. The cuneus is white, the membrane dark. The folded wings appear as a light X due to the pattern. The legs are light red. The head is also bright red in color. The basal antennae is thickened and bright red. The adjacent antenna segment is dark at the apical end. The transitions between the outer antenna elements are white.
Occurrence and habitat
The species occurs in the Palearctic . Their distribution area extends from Europe via Siberia to the Far East (China, Japan). In Europe it is represented in Central and Eastern Europe. The typical habitat of Adelphocoris reichelii is formed by forest edges and light forests.
Way of life
The phytophagous bugs are often found on quail wheat ( Melampyrum ), especially on meadow quail wheat ( Melampyrum pratense ). The adult bedbugs are mainly seen in July and August. The species overwinters as an egg.
