Aderi

The Aderi (also Harari ) are an ethnic group in northeast Ethiopia .

They are the Muslim residents of the city of Harar and at the same time the titular nation of the ethnically defined region of Harar . Their language, the Harari , belongs to the Southwest Semitic group within the Afro-Asian language family . For historical reasons, the Aderi have their own linguistic and cultural identity.

The legal scholar Abdullah al-Harari belonged to the Aderi.

The political party Hareri National League tries to represent the Aderi politically in Ethiopia 's parliament and has been sending one of its ethnic groups to the House of Representatives , the lower house of parliament, since 2005 .
