The National Regional State of the Harari People ( Amharic የሐረሪ ሕዝብ ክልል , English Harari People's National Regional State ) is one of the nine administrative regions ( Kililoch ) in Ethiopia .

It is located in the east of the country and includes the historically important city of Harar and its surrounding area. The titular nation is made up of the Aderi , who speak their own Harari language.

According to the 2007 census, 56.41% (103,421) of the population were Oromo , 22.77% (41,755) Amhars , 8.65% (15,858) Aderi, 4.34% (7,949) Gurage, and 3.87% (7,102) Somali . 69% were Muslim and 27.1% Orthodox. 49.5% lived in rural areas. The annual population growth between 1994 and 2007 was 2.6% and thus corresponds to the national average.
