The list of ISO-3166-2 codes for Ethiopia includes the codes for the nine states and the two cities.

The codes consist of two parts separated by a hyphen. The first part gives the country code according to ISO 3166-1 (for Ethiopia ET), the second the code for the state or city.

The current country code was last updated in the fourth newsletter of December 10, 2002 ( PDF ).

The current codes are available on the ISO website under #iso: code: 3166: ET . The city of Dire Dawa was added to the update in the fourth newsletter (ISO 3166-2: 2002-12-10) .
