ISO 3166-2: NG

The list of ISO-3166-2 codes for Nigeria contains the codes for the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory around the capital Abuja .

The codes consist of two parts separated by a hyphen. The first part gives the country code according to ISO 3166-1 (for Nigeria NG), the second the code for the state.

The current country code was last updated in the first newsletter on June 21, 2000 ( PDF ).

The current codes are available on the ISO website under #iso: code: 3166: NG . The update in the first newsletter (ISO 3166-2: 2000-06-21) added the states of Bayelsa , Ebonyi , Ekiti , Gombe , Nassarawa and Zamfara to the existing ones.
