ISO 3166-2: SS

The list of ISO-3166-2 codes for South Sudan includes the codes for the ten states.

The codes consist of two parts separated by a hyphen. The first part gives the country code according to ISO 3166-1 (for South Sudan SS), the second the code for the state.

The current country code was last updated in Newsletter II-3 of December 13, 2011 ( PDF ).

The current codes are available on the ISO website under #iso: code: 3166: SS .

Before the official introduction, ISO 3166-2: SS functioned as the official placeholder entry for South Sudan in ISO 3166-2 after the separation of South Sudan from Sudan in July 2011 .
