The Adlerfels (also known as the Adlerfelsen) is a group of rocks located 778 m above sea level with the main component of coarse-grain tourmaline granite south of the town of Eibenstock in the Ore Mountains .

description

The rock formation, which protrudes steeply from the spruce forest, resembles a castle-like elevation due to its bulges and blocks. Due to the originally very good view of Eibenstock, a small wooden observation tower was built at the end of the 19th century. Because of its dilapidation, this tower was demolished and not rebuilt.

The Reutergut is located a little below the Adlerfels. From there, when the sky is clear, a panoramic view of Eibenstock and the surrounding mountain ranges as well as the Eibenstock dam is possible. "Wurzelrudis Erlebniswelt" is located on the north-facing mountain slope towards the city. a. includes an all-weather toboggan run and a ski lift . There are also occasional real parties here, as the daily newspaper Freie Presse reported in 2011.

To the east of Adlerfels, the Carlsfelder Steig runs as a three-dam hiking trail between Zeisiggesang (922 m) and Brückenberg (964 m) to the Carlsfeld district . There is a youth hostel nearby that bears the name of the mountain: Am Adlerfelsen .
