The Adler glacial with an area of 2.1 square kilometers a small glacier in the Swiss Alps . It used to unite at an altitude of 2900 meters with the much larger Findel glacier and was to be regarded as its side glacier.
The Adler Glacier is embedded between the southwest ridge of the Rimpfischhorn ( 4199 m above sea level ) and the Adlerhorn ( 3988 m above sea level ) with its connecting ridge to the Strahlhorn ( 4190 m above sea level ). The exposure of the glacier is west. The Eagle Pass ( 3789 m above sea level. M. ) separates the Eagle Glacier from the northeast flowing Allalingletscher . The highest point of the glacier is at an altitude of 4110 m above sea level. M. near the summit of the Strahlhorn. In 2007 the glacier ended at around 2950 m . The equilibrium line (ELA), which is comparatively high in this relatively dry area, was at an altitude of 3200 m in the same year .
