Eagle Mill

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Adlermühle was a residential area of the community of Schönefeld in the Dahme-Spreewald district in Brandenburg .

location

The living space was built around a mill , which was already mentioned in 1783. At that time it was “located between the roads to Bohnsdorf and Altglienicke ”. The residential area was in the northern area of the district and there southeast of the Thiekesiedlung residential area, which was still in existence in the 21st century.

history

Adlermühle was first mentioned in an official journal of the Potsdam government in 1856. It belonged to the cathedral chapter of Berlin. At that time, 17 people lived at the place. A residential building and two farm buildings, including a flour mill, have survived from 1860. The residents were subordinate to the Köpenick court commission until 1878, then to the district court of Berlin II or Berlin-Neukölln until 1945 .

In 1932 what was known as an establishment became a residential area for the community of Schönefeld. With the development of Schönefeld into a suburban settlement, Adlermühle was incorporated together with the residential areas Chausseehaus, Thiekesiedlung, Dunkelsiedlung, Hoffmannsiedlung and Ziedrichsiedlung in 1950. In 1962, the mill building was demolished after the Berlin Wall was built and the Federal Highway 113 was built.
