The Admirals Nunatak is a loud statement of the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee 923 m high Nunatak on Alexander Island off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula , which from the upper portion of the Uranus Glacier rises in the center of the island.
Its name is derived from the sled dog teams "The Admirals", who were used in the service of the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey or British Antarctic Survey between 1952 and 1994 on various British Antarctic stations.
