Henny van Schoonhoven (born August 28, 1970 in Utrecht , † September 11, 2009 in Maarssen ) was a Dutch football player .
Life
Henny van Schoonhoven played for various clubs in his youth before he moved from amateur club USV Elinkwijk to FC Utrecht in 1998 . There, the defensive player wavered between the bench and the starting line-up in the following year and a half. After 26 appearances in the Eredivisie , the club awarded him to the then second division ADO Den Haag at the turn of 1999/2000 . After the loan period ended, he moved to the first division relegated SC Cambuur in the Eerste Divisie in the summer . Due to injury, however, he was only used irregularly, so that in 2003 his contract was terminated.
Shortly after his 39th birthday succumbed van Schoonhoven, who a few days before a league match of FC Utrecht in under cheers of supporters Stadion Galgenwaard had pursued, September 11, 2009 of a cancer . The FC Utrecht then played its next league game in the black ribbon.
