Adolf Friedrich (ethnologist)
Adolf Friedrich (born April 22, 1914 in Hofheim am Taunus ; † April 25, 1956 in Rawalpindi , Pakistan) was a German ethnologist (ethnologist). In 1955, together with Georg Buddrus , he published a collection of shaman's stories from Siberia , translated from Russian . He completed his habilitation under Hermann Baumann in Vienna in 1942 , taught at the Frobenius Institute in Frankfurt am Main and in 1947 was appointed to the newly created chair for ethnology at what is now the Institute for Ethnology and African Studies at the University of Mainz.
