Adolf Heuken

Adolf Heuken , SJ (born July 17, 1929 in Coesfeld , † July 25, 2019 in Jakarta ) was a Catholic priest , author and publisher . He lived in Jakarta, Indonesia , since 1963 .

He taught Christian ethics at various universities in Jakarta and Yogyakarta . He was the founder of the German-speaking Catholic communities in Jakarta (1971), Singapore (1981) and Kuala Lumpur (1988). In 2008 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon for his services to German-Indonesian friendship .

Father Adolf Heuken SJ was buried in the Jesuit cemetery of Mary Queen of Peace in Girisonta ( Central Java / Indonesia ) on July 27, 2019.
