Adolf Hnatek (born June 7, 1876 in Vienna ; † October 16, 1960 there ) was an Austrian astronomer .

From 1928 Hnatek was curator, from 1932 associate professor for astronomy at the University of Vienna and for many decades at the university observatory . He was a pioneer of the spectrophotometry of stars by comparing the relative energy densities (determinable from the photographic plates) at different wavelengths and then determining the temperature from the comparison with the black body spectrum of a comparative star. He wrote an article on this subject in the Encyclopedia of Mathematical Sciences in 1928 .
