Adolf Knakrick

Adolf Knakrick (born August 29, 1886 in Berlin , † November 20, 1959 in Munich ) was a German local politician.

Career

After graduating from high school in Glatz , Knakrick studied law at the universities of Tübingen , Munich and Breslau . From 1906 he was a member of the Catholic student union AV Guestfalia Tübingen . After completing his degree, he obtained a doctorate in Dr. iur. and then began my legal clerkship at the Wünschelburg District Court and the Glatz District Court. During the First World War he worked as an artillery officer and received the Iron Cross 1st class . He then continued his legal clerkship in Waldenburg, Neisse and Berlin and graduated in 1920 with the second state examination in law. From 1920 to 1923 he worked at the State Finance Office of Upper Silesia in Opole and then until 1925 at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Opole. In 1925 Knakrick was elected the first mayor of Beuthen and shortly thereafter received the title of Lord Mayor. In 1933 he was deposed by the National Socialists and briefly arrested. After the Second World War he worked as a lawyer and notary in Cham and lived in Munich from 1956.
