Adolf Populorum

Adolf Populorum (born November 20, 1899 in Innsbruck , † November 10, 1977 in Villach ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and Federal Railway Chief Inspector of the ÖBB . He was 1945-1949 member of the Bundesrat and 1951-1966 Member of the National Council .

Populorum attended elementary school and then switched to a community school. As a result, he learned the trade of a businessman and worked as a senior inspector in the service of the Austrian Federal Railways and as a trustee for welfare at the Federal Railway Directorate in Villach. He was involved as a member of the Villach municipal council, where he acted as vice mayor and cultural advisor. He represented the SPÖ between December 19 and November 7, 1949 in the Federal Council, and between January 1, 1947 and June 30, 1947 he held the position of Chairman of the Federal Council. After that, Populorum was a member of the Austrian National Council from July 16, 1951 to March 30, 1966.
