Adolf Rambold

Adolf Rambold (born October 5, 1900 in Stuttgart , † May 14, 1996 in Meerbusch ) was a German inventor and engineer .

Life

Rambold is considered the inventor of the modern tea bag with a two-chamber system and several tea bag packing machines. He had worked for the German company Teekanne since 1924 , initially as a locksmith. In 1928 he developed the Pompadour tea bag packing machine that produced 35 tea bags per minute. In 1929, Teekanne launched its first infusion bags made of tasteless special parchment paper and also marketed the tea bag packing machine specially developed by Rambold's employee. In 1949 the “Constanta tea packing machine”, which was again developed by Rambold, came onto the market. It was already able to produce 160 double chamber bags per minute. In Meerbusch he founded a subsidiary of Teekanne, Teepack Spezialmaschinen GmbH & Co. KG .
