Adolf Šlár
Adolf Šlár (born February 14, 1919 , † April 7, 1987 ) was a table tennis player from Czechoslovakia . He was world champion in doubles and with the Czechoslovak team.
At the age of 16, Adolf Šlár won the national championship. Between 1936 and 1955 he took part in eight world championships . He was most successful at the 1947 World Cup in Paris. Here he became world champion in doubles (with Bohumil Váňa ) and with the ČSR team. In mixed he won silver (with Vlasta Depetrisová ). In 1954 he became vice world champion with the team, in doubles he reached third place with Václav Tereba .
