Adolf Strewe

Adolf Strewe (born June 22, 1891 in Magdeburg , † September 1, 1963 in Egeln ) was a German Protestant theologian .

Life

During his time as a convent student, Strewe spent a lot of time in the house of the Salbker pastor at the Sankt-Gertraud-Kirche August Donndorf, who had sons of the same age. Strewe studied theology and law in Marburg, Jena and Halle (Saale). During the First World War he did military service from 1914 to 1918 and in 1918 became a volunteer at the Magdeburg City Library . In 1919 he obtained the scientific title Lic theol in Jena . From 1919 he was chairman of the Association of Protestant Friends , which in 1922 joined the Association for Contemporary Christianity. According to another statement, he was general secretary of the German Protestant Association .

In 1919 he became parish administrator and from 1922 pastor in Keutschen . In 1924 he took over the pastorate in Unterwerschen . On June 29, 1926, he was introduced as a pastor at the Sankt-Gertraud-Kirche, well known to him from his childhood days, in Salbke, which has since been incorporated into Magdeburg. In 1931 he published the Canonessammlung des Dionysius Exiguus in the first editorial office . At the beginning of May 1931 he held the funeral service for the victims of the explosion at Fahlberg-List on April 28, 1931.

In 1935, to the regret of the Salbker community, he went to Egeln as a pastor , where he also became mayor in 1945 and then worked as an independent city council. In 1960 he retired.
