Adolf Thomalen

Adolf Thomälen (born October 4, 1865 in Schwerin , † December 29, 1940 in Karlsruhe ) was a German electrical engineer and university teacher.

Thomael wrote a dissertation at the University of Tübingen with the title "The decomposition of the ampere turns of the single-phase motor into oppositely rotating ampere turns". In 1906 he joined the Siemens-Schuckertwerke “Literary Office” , in 1914 he became a private lecturer at the TH Karlsruhe and teacher at the state technical center there until his retirement in 1933. Thomälen was a talented teacher at the presentation of difficult technical processes.

Works

Thomael is known for his short textbook on electrical engineering , which was published in ten editions from 1903 to 1929 by Julius Springer, Berlin. It has been translated into five languages, including French, English and Spanish.
