Adolfo Venancio Hall Ramírez (born March  18, 1866 in Guatemala City , Guatemala , †  April 2, 1885 near Chalchuapa , El Salvador ) was a Guatemalan soldier and war hero.

Life

Adolfo Hall entered the Escuela Politécnica as an officer candidate in 1882 , where he distinguished himself through above-average performance. Before completing his training, he became a trainer in the Jalapa battalion of the Unionist Army of President Justo Rufino Barrios Auyón , who wanted Central America to be one by military means. Adolfo Hall also fell with Barrios in the Battle of Chalchuapa in western El Salvador, which was unfortunate for Guatemala . Adolfo Hall was promoted to lieutenant colonel and battalion commander on March 31 because of his special bravery .

Cadet Institute

A cadet institute of the armed forces of Guatemala founded in 1955 was named after Adolfo V. Hall. Today a total of seven military schools in Guatemala bear the name Instituto Adolfo V. Hall .
