Adolfo de Oliveira Franco (born November 12, 1915 in Ponta Grossa , † March 9, 2008 in Curitiba ) was a Brazilian lawyer and politician .

biography

He was born the son of the lawyer João de Oliveira Franco and the lawyer Hilda Faro Oliveira Franco. He attended elementary school in the school group of the Escola Normal de Curitiba and secondary school at the Instituto Santa Maria and Ginásio Paranaense and graduated in 1930. In 1935 he graduated from the Law Faculty of the University of Rio de Janeiro in law and social sciences .

He held the following positions: Legal Director of Caixa Econômica Federal do Paraná , Lawyer and Director of Banco Comercial do Paraná SA , President of the Bar Association of Brazil, Paraná Section, Director of the Rural and Industrial Loans Portfolio of Banco do Brasil , Director of the Coffee Growers Association from Paraná and Senator of the Republic in 1962.

He was elected governor by the Paraná State Legislative Assembly for the period from May 1, 1955 to January 31, 1956 .

During the few months of administration, Franco's government tried to strengthen the state economy. She converted the foundation to support agricultural workers into an institute to promote soil cultivation.

After leaving the government, he returned to private activities, particularly in the banking sector, and was elected Senator of the Republic in 1962. After this mandate was fulfilled, he finally withdrew from public life and devoted himself to his business interests.

He was married to Rosa Macedo de Oliveira Franco and had five children. One of them, Adolfo Franco de Oliveira Júnior, also known as Adolfo Franco, was a Federal Member of Parliament for Paraná from 1979 to 1983.
