Adolph Preiss (clergyman)

Adolph Preiss (born June 9, 1762 in Neuhausen (Valtaiķi) near Hasenpoth , Kurland ; † November 20, 1832 in Libau ) was a German-Baltic Lutheran clergyman.

Preiss, son of the clergyman Jakob Preiss (1729–1791), attended grammar school in Mitau and studied theology at the University of Göttingen . From 1790 he succeeded his father as a German preacher in Libau and from 1810 to 1818 provost of the Grobin diocese .
