François Adolphe Maugendre (born April 21, 1809 in Ingouville near Le Havre ; died January 21, 1895 in Paris ) was a French landscape painter , draftsman and lithographer .

Career

Maugendre had specialized in landscapes, vedute and architectural representations. He made numerous large-format lithographs. Among other things, he illustrated Normandy and Wallonia. He is known for his attention to detail. His industrial pictures are of particular importance , as they allow very precise information about the appearance and condition of the facilities he portrays, for example those that he created on behalf of the " Société Anonyme des Mines et Fonderies de ." Founded in 1837 by the Belgian banker and industrialist François-Dominique Mosselman Zinc de la Vieille-Montagne ”in the 1850s.

Some of his works are in the Museum of Evreux and offer panoramic views of the city.
