Adrián Martínez (born January 7, 1970 in Mexico City ) is a retired Mexican football player on the position of goalkeeper .

career

Martínez began his professional career at Club León , with whom he won the Mexican championship title in his first season in 1991/92 ; although he had no active part in this success because he was still without a commitment that season. In 1997 he was loaned for a half season to the city ​​rivals Unión de Curtidores, who are playing in the second division .

Before the 1998/99 season he moved to Club Santos Laguna , where he experienced the best years of his professional career. During this time he made the leap into the national team , was twice elected goalkeeper of the year in Mexico and won another championship title in summer 2001, in which he was also actively involved this time.
