Adrian Loretan

Adrian Loretan (born May 15, 1959 in Brig ) is a Swiss national church lawyer and canon lawyer .

Life

In 1979 Adrian Loretan graduated from Engelberg . He then studied philosophy , Catholic and Protestant theology and religious law at the universities of Lucerne , Tübingen and the Gregoriana in Rome , where he also received his doctorate . He then began pastoral work in the hospital pastoral care and completed the Clinical Pastoral Training . In 1996 he was appointed professor for church and state church law at what is now the University of Lucerne . From 1999 to 2001 he was dean of the theological faculty there . He is a signatory of the Church 2011 Memorandum : A Necessary Departure .

He has been married to the theologian Franziska Loretan-Saladin since 1987.

He prepared various documents for the Swiss Bishops' Conference , B. “Commissioned laypeople in the church service” (2005) or “State church law basic paper for diocesan bishops” (2008).
