Adrienne Héritier , also Adrienne Windhoff-Héritier (born June 29, 1944 in Basel ), is a Swiss political scientist .

Life

After receiving her doctorate in 1975 from the University of Giessen and her habilitation in 1980 at the University of Münster , she became Professor of Politics and Public Administration at the University of Konstanz in 1981 . In 1989 she moved to Bielefeld University as a professor of political science . In 1995 she became Professor of Public Policy in the Department of Sociology and Political Science at the European University Institute . From 1999 to 2003 she was director (social sciences) of the Max Planck project group Law of Common Goods . In 2003 she moved back to Florence, where she held the Joint Chair Political Science of the Department of Political and Social Science at the Robert Schuman Center for Advanced Studies of the European University Institute until 2014. Since 2014 she has been Professor emeritus in the Department of Political and Social Science at the EUI .
