Adscita krymensis is a butterfly fromthe ram family (Zygaenidae).

features

The males reach a fore wing length of 11.5 millimeters. Head, thorax and legs shimmer green. The abdomen has a dark green shimmer and a semi-metallic sheen. The sensors consist of 37 segments, the last nine segments are formed into plates. The top of the forewing shimmers green, the underside of the forewing and the fringes are gray. The hind wing upper and lower surface are gray. Both wings are covered with narrow scales and are slightly translucent .

In the males, the uncus is 1.6 times longer than the tegumen . The valves have no process, the ventral part is pointed distally . The aedeagus is about twice as long as the uncus and has a straight, severely sclerotized cornutus. This is slender, pointed distally and 24 times longer than wide.

Females have not yet been described.

Similar species

Adscita albanica and Adscita geryon occur syntopically with A. krymensis . All three types can be distinguished genitally morphologically .

Adscita krymensis is so far only known from the Crimean peninsula .

The biology of the species is so far unknown.

Systematics

The taxonomic position of the species is currently unclear. It is believed to be closely related to the representatives of the statices group.
