The ae group is a German automotive supplier based in Gerstungen, Thuringia . The company produces aluminum cast parts for vehicle construction and has four production sites in Gerstungen, Nentershausen , Lübeck and Strzelce Krajeńskie in Poland . The ae group supplies die-cast raw parts and machined components ready for assembly. The products include transmission control parts and transmission housings as well as engine and transmission components. Insolvency proceedings that had to be opened against the ae group in 2009 were discontinued after four months. In the course of the restructuring, a company location in Lower Saxony and a plant in the USA had to be closed.
