Aegidius Johann Peter Joseph Scheuren

Aegidius Johann Peter Joseph Scheuren (born March 27, 1774 in Aachen ; † June 7, 1844 there ) was a German painter and lithographer .

Live and act

After his training, Scheuren worked as a drawing teacher at the St. Leonhard secondary school for girls. In 1825 he advertised in the Rheinische Flora for his lithographs of the architectural sights of Aachen, the subscription price of which was 18 silver groschen. In the late summer of 1837 he presented a river view at the first contemporary painting exhibition in the Aachen town hall . His oeuvre includes portraits , vedute and landscapes .

Aegidius Scheuren was married to Maria Magdalena Schavoir from Aachen, with whom he had the son Johann Kaspar Nepomuk Scheuren , who also became a well-known painter.
