Aegviidu (German: Charlottenhof ) is a patch ( Estonian alev ) in the rural community of Anija in the Estonian district of Harju with an area of 11.97 km². It has 856 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2010).

Until 2017, the place also formed an independent municipality ( Aegviidu vald ).

Aegviidu was first mentioned in a document in 1796. With the construction of the railway line from Tallinn to Narva and on to Saint Petersburg and the construction of a train station in 1870, the community experienced an economic boom. Today, the unspoilt river and forest landscape on the 36 km long hiking trail from Aegviidu to Liiapeksi attracts nature lovers to the community.
