Aer (pronunciation [ ], like English "Air") or Fresh Aer Movement was an American rap-rock duo that until their split in May 2016 consisted of David von Mering and Carter Schultz from Wayland , Massachusetts .

Band history

David von Mering and Carter Schultz attended high school together in their hometown of Wayland in Middlesex County west of Boston . After their first band broke up, they continued together as a duo under the name Fresh Aer Movement or Aer for short . They developed their own style from rap with reggae, acoustic pop and indie rock. While still in school, they released their first two mixtapes in the fall of 2010 and spring of 2011, the second being sponsored by the popular college music website Good Music All Day : "The Reach" was downloaded over 50,000 times. The EP "What You Need", released shortly afterwards, reached number one on the hip-hop charts on iTunes . They were also successful on YouTube with their own videos, with the song Feel I Bring reaching over two million views. In addition, they not only appeared on the east coast from New York to Washington, but also in many other states as far as Canada. In May 2012, Aer performed three days at The Bamboozle Festival in Asbury Park .

After graduating from school in the summer of 2011, Schultz and von Mering had started producing their debut album. "The Bright Side" was released a year later and was instantly at number 10 on the US rap charts and number 85 on the official album charts . At the beginning of 2014 the debut album "Aer" was released. In the summer of 2015 the album "One of a Kind" followed, which was released exclusively digitally and on vinyl.

After the "One of a Kind Tour" in 2015 and in spring 2016, Aer announced their separation on Facebook in May 2016.
