history

The airline was founded in 2005 and ceased operations in February 2015, whereupon the Bolivian supervisory authority withdrew the company's license in May 2015 . Most recently the company operated four Fairchild Swearingen Metro .

Incidents

Aerocon recorded three incidents in its history, two of which were fatal:

  • On September 6, 2011 a Fairchild Swearingen metro crashed from El Trompillo Airport to Trinidad near Trinidad. Two crew members and six out of seven passengers died in the accident.
  • On November 3, 2013, a Fairchild Swearingen Metro (flight A4 25) from Trinidad to Riberalta had an accident while landing. The plane came off the runway and caught fire. Eight people were killed and nine people were injured. At the time it was raining heavily and visibility was poor.
