Aerovaradero

As a subsidiary of Corporación de la Aviación Cubana  SA (CACSA) of the Ministry of Transport under the supervision of the Instituto de Aeronáutica Civil de Cuba (IACC), Aerovaradero SA is responsible for all types of ground services for handling air freight at all Cuban airports . The Company headquarters in Havana on the northwest corner of the airport José Martí International Airport , in Wajay , a district ( consejo popular ) the community ( municipality ) Boyeros . Aerovaradero was founded in 1963.

Services

Aerovaradero offers the following services:

  1. Acceptance, handling, storage and delivery of freight to customers in the warehouses and cold stores at the airports and the two warehouses in the city of Havana.
  2. Transport of air cargo between the aircraft and the cargo terminal.
  3. Forwarding of freight in national and international transit.
  4. Customs clearance
  5. Representing airlines in the sale of air transport services
  6. Transport of freight, multimodal by land, sea and air.
  7. Leasing of office space to air freight institutions

Infrastructure

Aerovaradero operates warehouses and areas as well as cold stores, including those for frozen foods

two terminals at Havana Airport

  • at Terminal 1, the original terminal building on the north-south corner of the airport site
  • on the north side between Terminal 2 and 3

such as

  • the warehouses of the company ELCA (Empresa Logística de Carga Aérea)

and finally two warehouses and collection points in central areas of Havana.

Holdings

At the beginning of April 2002, the terminal of the Cuban-Spanish joint venture ELCA (Empresa Logística de Carga Aérea) was opened at Havana Airport. The Spanish partner is Cargosur, a subsidiary of Iberia .

This terminal with 1402 m² of storage space and 2210 m³ of cooling and freezing chambers is used exclusively for Iberia's international transit to and from other Latin American countries.
