The Afdera is an isolated, 1295 m high stratovolcano in northern Ethiopia . It lies at the intersection of three fracture systems between the volcanoes Erta Ale , Tat Ali and Alayta . The last known eruption occurred in June 1907 with the ejection of lava on the western flank of the volcano.

At the foot of the mountain is Lake Afdera , where rock salt is mined.
