Afgrund is a multinational grindcore band that was formed in 2006. Its members come from Sweden, Finland, Austria and Italy.
history
The band was founded in Sweden in 2006 by guitarist and singer Andreas Baier, drummer Olle Ferner and bassist Patrik Howe. Shortly after the founding, they recorded their first demo, which was called Hjärtslag och Djupa Andetag and was released that same year. Shortly before a tour of Poland, drummer Olle Ferner left the band and was replaced by the Finn Panu Posti. Her debut album, Svarta Dagar , was released in spring 2007 , as was a split release with Relevant Few . Both records were released by Lifestage Productions . In autumn, the Italian Enrico Marchiori joined the line-up as bassist, so Howe was now represented in the band as the second guitarist. This was followed by a tour of Europe together with Squash Bowels . In the spring of 2008, Svarta Dagar was re-released on the US label Emetic Records . In May 2008 a tour through the USA with Skarp and Phobia followed . Howe then left the band. In the summer the band appeared at various festivals and played concerts all over Europe. In September a tour with Ablach followed through Great Britain . In the fall, the group reached a deal with Willowtip Records . Her next album Vid Helvetets Grindar was released on this label in 2009 . In 2012 the band performed at the Tuska Open Air Metal Festival . The release of the next album The Age of Dumb is planned for the end of July .
