Skarp is a grindcore / crustcore band from Seattle, USA .

biography

Skarp were founded in 2000 and were initially clearly influenced by Choking Victim , but in the course of time the music became significantly harder and heavy on metal (later self-name: "Blackout Grind"). From 2001 to 2003 a split (with the band Human Error) and a self-titled EP were recorded and numerous concerts were played in the western United States and Canada at the same time. In 2004 the debut album Bury Your Dead was recorded (released on the independent label Inimical Records) and presented on a European tour with Leftover Crack . At the turn of the year 2005 Skarp played as opening act for the Melvins with Jello Biafra at a concert in Seattle and was discovered there for his label Alternative Tentacles . In April of the same year, the second album Requiem with producer Billy Anderson (including Fantômas , Sick of It All ) was recorded in the Secret Studios in San Francisco and released in late summer.
