Willowtip Records was founded in 2000 by Jason Tipton with a partner named Willosin, who no longer has anything to do with the label. The combination of both names resulted in the name Willowtip . The Labek specializes in Death Metal and Grindcore , mainly from bands that have a complex and technical style of play. The first release was a split EP from Fate of Icarus and Creation Is Crucifixion . According to Tipton, his proudest moment with the label was the re- release of Onset of Putrefaction by the band Necrophagist . It wasn't available anywhere until that point until Willowtip re-released the album.
Willowtip is also working with the "Hydrogrind" band Cephalic Carnage from Colorado to release the EP Halls of Amenti (which contained only one song). Some other bands that are under contract with Willowtip e.g. B. Arsis , Ion Dissonance , Misery Index, and Neuraxis . The band come from different countries like Belgium , Canada , Germany , Finland , Italy and Sweden .
In the middle of 2007 Willowtip reached a partnership with the death metal label Neurotic Records ( Netherlands ) in order to be able to release albums in North America.
