Sickening Horror is a technical death metal band from Athens ( Greece ), which was founded in 2002.
history
The band was founded in January 2002 by George Antipatis (electric guitar, vocals), Ilias Daras (electric bass) and George Kollias (drums).
In November 2003 the band released their first Demo Promo 2003 , which included three songs. At that time, George Bokos joined the band, who temporarily acted as a second guitarist.
As a result, the band experimented with different styles: experimental black metal , jazz and industrial . The result of this was to be heard on their debut album When Landscapes Bled Backwards , which was released in June 2007 on Neurotic Records . It was mixed by Neil Kernon and mastered by Alan Douches of West West Side Music .
In February 2007 the band separated from George Kollias, who was replaced by Jose Theodorakis in October 2007.
In March 2008 the band began their first tour with bands like Immolation , Melechesh and Goatwhore . The tour included 24 shows across Europe . After the tour they recorded the second album The Dead End Experiment .
A few months later, the band split from Jose Theodorakis, whose post Alex Zachos took over in April 2009. In July 2009 the band signed with SFC Records and The Dead End Experiment was released in August 2009. In October 2009 the band hired a second guitarist named Andreas Karayiannis. To promote the new album The Dead End Experiment , the band headlined on tour in November 2009 and played concerts in Russia with bands like Cephalic Impurity and Thelema .
style
Characteristic for the band is the high technical level of the drummers. The technically demanding bass playing is also distinctive for the sound of the works. Frequent changes from fast and slow passages are also style-defining for the band.
