Disavowed is a death metal band from the Dutch province of North Brabant , which formed from the remains of Nocturnal Silence in 2000. They are comparable to bands like Suffocation , Pyrexia , Vader or Dying Fetus , which they also take as a model stylistically.

Band history

In 2000 the band decided to start over under the name Nocturnal Silence and to reformat. From then on, they wanted to play more brutal and better structured Death Metal . In the same year the demo "Point Of Few" became aware of the American label Unique Leader Records and signed them. In 2001 the first studio album Perceptive Deception was released . In 2002 they embarked on a five-week tour of the US and Canada and a year later a four-week tour of Europe . In the summer of 2005, drummer Robbe Vrijenhoek had to leave the band due to a serious hand injury and was then replaced by drummer Dirk Janssen. Other shows followed, including in Japan and Hong Kong . In May 2006 Dirk Janssen suddenly left the band and Romain Goulon took his place on drums.

After a few festivals in the summer of the same year, the band began recording their second album, Stagnated Existence . To market their album, they went on their second European tour with Cannibal Corpse in March 2007 . On October 10, 2007, Stagnated Existence was released on the Dutch indie label Neurotic Records , which was even more brutal than the debut album . They also appeared in an issue of the Dutch metal magazine Aardschok . This was followed by other shows, such as an acceptance for the Maryland Deathfest , which was then canceled. In September the band announced that Romain Goulon had switched to Necrophagist and a new drummer was wanted. Six months later, Morten Løwe was named as the new drummer, after which they went on tour with the Canadian band Beneath the Massacre, among others . But this did not last long and left the band in summer 2009. Three quarters of a year later, Kevin Foley was announced as the new member on drums, with whom they took part in the Mountains of Death in Switzerland in August 2010 . The performance in June 2010 for the Death Feast Open Air had to be canceled.
