Odious Mortem is an American death metal band from San Francisco , California . They are currently under contract with Willowtip Records . So far they have released two studio albums on Unique Leader Records and Willowtip Records and a demo in 2003 without label support.
Band history
Odious Mortem was founded in 2000 by Dan Eggers (guitar, vocals) and KC Howard (drums) in Encinitas , California. Ivan Munguia (electric bass) and David Siskin (electric guitar) joined them later. In 2003 the band recorded the demo Gestation of Worms , which resulted in a contract with Unique Leader Records . The band recorded the debut album Devouring the Prophecy in March 2004 at Legion Studios in Santa Cruz , California and released it on February 8, 2005.
In 2004, KC Howard joined the death metal band Decrepit Birth . In November 2006 the band completed the second album at Castle Ultimate Studios in Oakland , California. The album, called Cryptic Implosion , was released on April 24, 2007. In the same year they also played at the Maryland Deathfest .
Since 2009 the members have been busy with other projects and Odious Mortem is on hold except for a few live performances.

Dan Eggers, Joel Horner and KC Howard were members of Decrepit Birth until 2010 and Anthony Trapani joined the death metal band Severed Savior . David Siskin also works as a DJ in the jungle and drum and bass sectors. His current project is called WAR // BREAKER.
Music genre
Odious Mortem have a technically demanding style. Characteristic are the down-tuned guitars and the heavy use of blastbeats and double bass . Lyrical themes are humanity, the state of the earth, drugs , psychoses , greed, fear, suffering, social grievances, annihilation, human consciousness and the collapse of civilization. They attach importance to not being a political band and only wanting to describe reality without following a certain ideology,
