Jane Hawking

Jane Hawking (* 29. March 1944 as Beryl Jane Wilde ) is a British Romanistin . She was first married to the physicist Stephen Hawking and wrote an autobiography .

Life

Jane Wilde studied languages and earned academic doctoral degree ( Ph.D. ) in Romance. She married Stephen Hawking in 1965. They had three children: a son in 1967, daughter Lucy Hawking in 1969 and a son in 1979. Stephen Hawking separated from Jane in 1990 and divorced in 1995.

Two years later, Jane married family friend and musician Jonathan Hellyer Jones. She wrote an autobiography about her marriage to Stephen, Music to Move the Stars: A Life with Stephen, which appeared in 1999. After the physicist separated from his second wife, he and Jane had more contact again. 2008 greatly updated edition of the biography was titled Traveling to Infinity - My Life with Stephen , what the basis of the film The Theory of Everything ( The Theory of Everything , 2014) was. In it, Felicity Jones plays the role of Jane Hawking.
