Agafya grushetskaya ( Russian Агафья Семёновна Грушецкая ., Scientific transliteration Agaf'ja Semenovna Grušeckaja * 1665 , † July 14 . Jul / 24. July  1681 greg. ) Was the first of two wives of Feodor III. and thus Tsarina of Russia.

Life

She was born as the daughter of Semyon Fyodorowitsch Grushetski, a Russian nobleman of Polish origin, and his wife Maria Ivanovna Zaborowski.

On July 28, 1680 she was 15 years old with Tsar Fyodor III. married by Russia, her husband was four years older and had been tsar for four years. She gave birth to a son, Tsarevich Ilja (* July 11, 1681 / † July 21, 1681), who died after just 10 days. Agafja died in childbed, just three days after her son, and four days before their one-year wedding anniversary. She was buried in the Archangel Michael Cathedral in Moscow.
