Agathon (son of Tyrimmas)
Agathon ( Greek Ἀγάθων ; † 324 BC in Karmana ), son of Tyrimmas, was a Macedonian equestrian officer of Alexander the great in the 4th century BC.
During the Asian campaign , Agathon was the commander of the Odrysian cavalry ( Thracians ) and was defeated in the battles of Granikos in 334 BC. Chr. And v Gaugamela 331st Chr. Named. In 330 BC He and his troops were assigned to the staff of Parmenion in Ekbatana . Together with officers Kleandros , Sitalkes and Herakon , he murdered Parmenion that same year on Alexander's instructions. When Alexander returned from India unexpectedly, they were discovered in 324 BC. Ordered to Karmana , where they were condemned and executed by the army assembly for their crimes.
